ASPIRING TO DREAM MINDSET

Do you aspire to achieve your dreams, or dream to achieve what you aspire? The answer depends on how you were raised. The result is determined by your current mindset. The main question seems to be whether you will achieve what you set your mind to. While I can sing the song from Disney about dreams really do come true, the reality was never imbedded. It’s no wonder why I played tennis. I was a natural.

I lived a tennis game life. One day I was encouraged to make good grades. The next day I was told, ‘why do you stress yourself out’. It’s no wonder why I have struggled to figure out who I am created to be, much less whether dreams can really come true. I lived with negative Nelly while watching Pollyanna.

It’s not enough to know Maslow’s hierarchy either. Yes, I kept studying because I love to evolve. Read more here. Maslow indicates there are different levels of growth. Each comes with a mindset. During my evolution of dreaming, my word choice to focus on is aspiration. According to Merriam-Webster, to aspire is to rise up to a great plan, an abundant hope of fulfilling a worthwhile mission. Simply defined, aspire is an individual effort. This is something I can wrap my head around. I am going to work on my aspirations of having a fulfilled life strengthening myself playing tennis and singing. Yes, I AM that talented.
